let’s be friends

I really needed to get on and write back to my friend Samantha who wrote me a lovely long letter recently (we try to send a few bits of snail mail each year rather than just emailing).  Anyway, I noticed Sandie had a challenge going on at her blog to make a friendship card, so this morning I wrote a long (5 page) letter and made a card for Sam.  What a surprise too, I used my current addication – Lilac Avenue papers from Kaisercraft.  And like most of my pages using that range, one of Sandie’s flowers made it in too (they just go so well with that range of papers).   Anyway, here’s my card and letter.

compulsory relaxation

May 8, 2009 at 7:59 am (random things) (, , )

I am about to go on some self-enforced relaxation.  I’ve noticed I have a really, really bad habit now of not relaxing on a Friday afternoon.  Before we moved, I always relaxed on a Friday afternoon.  Typically, I’d finish work early, stop via my friend’s shop (where I worked on Saturday mornings) – which was right next to a pub so I could buy us some take away beers and then we’d sit out on the back patio and chill (although one of us would have to get up and serve a customer if they came in, but Friday’s were quiet generally).  Then I’d cruise home, freshen up and when Mr Petit came home we’d go to some friend’s place for dinner/beers or go down the pub.  It was easy.

But now it’s hard because we don’t really know that many people yet and I seem to accidently spend Friday’s cleaning or working back late.  But not today.  I’m about to get my current book, a beer and some crackers and sit out in the patio to read until it’s too cold out there.  I’m feeling chilled just thinking about it.  What are you doing to relax this afternoon?
