Rather than layering the rectangles on top of the backing, I cut out a black frame with 3 rectangluar holes.  I used foam tape to raise up the black frame from the grey pattern background sheet.  I made some gorgeous little roses (see the tutorial by the beautiful Belle here) and punched out some little butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch.  A liberal sprinking of bling was obviously obligatory!!! And the little sentiment is a sticker that I backed with card, trimmed and mounted on the black frame with some more foam tape.  All the paper and the sentiment sticker are from the Stella and Rose range from My Mind’s Eye.  Really like this little card and can see myself using this sketch regularly.

Although I’m rather busy, I’m defininitely scheduling in some craft time this weekend!  Especially as I have a yummy pack of Basic Grey’s Hopscotch range!!

Well, what’s been happening?  The England holiday album featured in the last few posts is FINISHED (did take me until last month to finish but I do rather love it!) and I’ve done quite a lot of scrapping just lately.  And, most excitingly, I’m now on the Design Team over at the Little Scrapbook Shop or LSBS to it’s fans.  How awesome is that hey.  Same old on the work front, still managing the West Arthur CRC.  Other than that, just bobbing along.

Challenge One asked for lace, ruffles/pleating, a circle and hand stitching.

The second challenged asked for an animal or tree, a heart, 2 photos and a black element not including text or doodling.

This was my take on challenge three which was a sketch challenge.

The final challenge was to make a card which was vintage style, paper with writing on and a button. I love this challenge so much I made a few more cards.

Last week I did one of the challenges in the Little Scrapbooking Shop Cybercrop.  I would have liked to do more but on Saturday afternoon I sliced my index finger open on the food process blade and had to get my friend Karen to take me to hospital to get patched up and it was way too tended to do too much (one page was all I could manage!!!)

This was a challenge to scrap a creature - so I had a little photo shoot with our fur-girl.

Anyway, after all the gun slinging action, I settled down for a more domestic weekend.  I made some jam drops (featuring some tasty Fig Jam I made earlier in the week) and did some other cooking experiments (including my first attempt at French Onion Soup which tasted delicious but did rather interfer with the intestinal processes!!!).  The Little Scrapbook Shop had it’s ‘Good, Bad and Ugly’ cybercrop.  I completed 2 of the challenges…

This challenge you had to document something 'bad' and use green on the layout somewhere.

This was the sketch challenge, you had to make one minor change (I flipped the sketch orientation) and use the words 'good, bad, ugly' in your layout somewhere.

I also got the week’s challenge done for the Seasoned Scrapper

This challenge we had to use some of the lyrics from a song by some old guy (Billy Thorpe?) in our layout.

I also did a couple of other random pages just for fun which I have been slack and not photographed.  Also been busy knitting away for Knit One Save One.

This week the challenge was to follow Deanne’s instruction for making a very cool box with cocertina fold slots to hold the cards we make over the year.  We also had to make sure our card what ‘summery’ in feel.  I was pretty pleased with how mine turned out – nothing fancy but it’s neat, accurate and bright.  The instructions on how to make it are here.

Anyway, I’m off to continue scrapping some of our holiday photos from our trip to England.  Hopefully I can find some inspiration!!!

I have a few scrappy things on the go – hopefully I’ll have something to show you in a day or two but in the mean time here’s a little quote that I really liked (and the pic) and thought you might like it too.

Scrapping-wise I haven’t done much lately as we’ve been overseas – which was excellent – but I do have some projects on the go.  Firstly I’ve started (well, printed some photos for) an album featuring our holiday to England.  I’m also going to participate in the Little Scrapbook Shop’s 2010 by the Month – currently trying to organise what I’m going to do for my January page – I definitely need to take more photos in February!!!!  I’m also really excited about the LSBS’s 2010 weekly challenge program (previously 52 Pick Up) which was unveiled last Sunday – it’s the Seasoned Scrapper…

I’m definitely keen to get into these challenges as I really loved doing 52 Pick Up (and I’m proud to say I did it 52 times in 2009). Anyway, hopefully my next post will have some pix of scrapping I have finally got around too.

Finally, and most importantly, Happy Australia Day!  We had a lovely morning at the beautiful Lake Towerinning for a community bbq breakfast.
