scrappy nine patch wonder quilt
Excited about a new project – popped into our local craft store to pick up my requirements list for a patchworking class next month for a scrappy nine patch wonder. I can’t find a picture online of the quilt but I’m going to do the blocks in black and white fabrics and then the background in red. I just bought some fabric for the black and white sections from the Fat Quarter Shop so hopefully they will get here in time (should be fine!). The fabric is from the In Black and White range by Marcus Brothers, as shown below.
serious creative block
Trying, very hard, to come up with a brilliant idea for our next scrapbooking class. I want to do something with doodling, but I’m really struggling to find some paper that really grabs me. Starting to feel frustrated. Going to go browse twopeas for some ideas before I chuck a tantrum. Maybe it’s just not the afternoon for it. But I need to figure out what I’m doing shortly so the paper and stuff can get here in the post before next month (and give me time to set up a micro-production line for making the kits up).
it didn’t rain, it poured!
We soooo deserved for it to rain – it’s been horridly hot and oppressive here for days. Give me the heat without the humidity any day – I can do 40 for days on end, it’s the humidity that kills me. Anyway, the clouds have been tantilising us, and today, right on lunchtime, we had a huge dust storm (my poor little car got sand blasted) and then the rain came. It was glorious – although very ferocious. It was right on school lunch break so the kids had to stay inside – naturally they acted totally insane – well, they have seen rain once since December (and then it was only a sprinkle, and in December there was only 1 inch of rain). Then it rained intermitently all afternoon and now the rain is back with avengence – love the sound of rain on our tin roof. My car is semi-clean for the first time in 9 months, since our water restrictions started.
